The "Farm" is a community "field", created and maintained for the purpose of planting the seeds of tomorrow, nurturing growth today and harvesting a history that gives roots to the community. The construction and maintenance of the farm buildings through donated labor and materials takes a lesson from the well known "Habitat for Humanity" project which builds homes for the homeless and disadvantaged. The building projects at the Conley Outreach Farm actually create homes for "Human Services", places to nurture and to heal individuals and families who need a place to come in from the storms of life. The process of physically working together to design a garden or repair a building brings people together and forges relationships between individuals as well as organizations and fosters self-reliance in the community. Because of our strong and broad emphasis on community and collaboration, we offer unique and gratifying opportunities for community minded builders, developers and others interested in demonstrating their concern for the health and welfare of our rapidly growing communities.
